The rule, quoted
Under "Can enter Albania without a visa", the Ministry's page lists: "Foreign citizens who have a valid, multiple-entry Schengen visa, which has been previously used in one of the Schengen states, or foreign citizens who have a valid permit of stay in one of the Schengen states. The citizens are obliged to leave the territory of the Republic of Albania no later than 3 (three) days from the date of expiry of the validity of the above-mentioned documents." The regime is set by Law No. 79/2021 "On foreigners" and Decision of the Council of Ministers No. 858 of 29 December 2021.
What it means for you
- The visa must be multiple-entry and must already have been used to enter a Schengen state; a fresh, unused sticker does not qualify, and neither does a single-entry visa.
- The page states no separate day limit for this category beyond leaving within three days of the document's expiry; Albania's general short-stay framework under Law 79/2021 is 90 days in any 180.
- Albania has at times granted seasonal visa-free entry to Indian nationals directly; check the same page for the current year's list.
