Serbia with a Schengen visa: 90 days in six months for Indian passport holders
Up to 90 days in six months within the validity of a Schengen, UK or US visa or residence permit (Indians otherwise visa-required since 1 January 2023). Rules change without notice; the official source is linked below and was read on 2026-08-17.
The rule, quoted
The Serbian Ministry of Foreign Affairs' visa-requirements page, citing the Government Decision of 30 October 2014, states that holders of valid Schengen, United Kingdom or United States visas or residence permits may "enter, transit and stay in the Republic of Serbia up to 90 days during a six-month period", "within validity of said visas or residence permits".
Why this matters for Indians in particular
Serbia allowed visa-free entry to Indian passport holders for 30 days until 31 December 2022; the Embassy of India in Belgrade's advisory of 16 December 2022 confirmed that from 1 January 2023 Indian nationals require a visa. The 2014 decision on Schengen, UK and US visa holders remained in force, so a valid Schengen visa is now the practical route.
What it means for you
- Any valid Schengen visa qualifies on the wording; the stay may not exceed the visa's remaining validity.
- Up to 90 days in a six-month period.
- Serbia is outside Schengen; leaving Schengen on a single-entry visa spends it.
