Where else is my Schengen visa valid? Non-Schengen countries Indians can enter with it
A Schengen sticker opens more doors than the 29 Schengen states. Filter by your visa type and read the official condition for each country.
How to read the list
These are non-Schengen countries whose published rules admit holders of a valid Schengen visa without a national visa, or let them obtain a visa on arrival or an e-visa that others cannot. Each entry links to its own page with the official source, the conditions (single or multiple entry, used or unused, minimum remaining validity) and the maximum stay. Rules of this kind change without notice and are applied by border officers, so treat the list as a starting point and confirm on the official page before you book.
Two things a Schengen visa never does: it does not confer an automatic right of entry even into Schengen (Article 30, Visa Code), and it does not substitute for a residence permit where a country's rule asks for one.
- Regulation (EC) No 810/2009 (Visa Code), Article 30: https://eur-lex.europa.eu/legal-content/EN/TXT/HTML/?uri=CELEX:02009R0810-20200202
Questions this page answers
Can I enter the UK or Ireland with a Schengen visa?
No. Neither is in Schengen and neither admits Indian nationals on a Schengen visa; both require their own visas.
Does a Schengen visa guarantee entry anywhere?
No. Article 30 of the Visa Code says mere possession of a visa confers no automatic right of entry, and third countries apply their own conditions at the border.
