If you are refused

Written appeal (objection) addressed to the State Secretariat for Migration (SEM): signed and dated letter in German, French or Italian, submitted either to the Swiss representation that refused the visa (Embassy New Delhi) or directly to SEM, Quellenweg 6, CH-3003 Berne-Wabern; advance fee CHF 200 per person/family; SEM decides in approx. 8-12 weeks; if SEM confirms the refusal, further appeal to the Federal Administrative Court (P.O. Box, CH-3000 Bern 14) within 30 days, only via an authorised representative/host in Switzerland. Deadline: 30 days from notification/receipt of the refusal (second-stage appeal to the Federal Administrative Court: 30 days from SEM's negative decision).

Where decisions are taken

Every Schengen application lodged in India, at any VFS centre, is assessed by the Embassy of Switzerland in New Delhi on behalf of the State Secretariat for Migration; the Consulates General in Mumbai and Bengaluru offer no visa services. The EC statistics accordingly report all of Switzerland's India applications under New Delhi.
